Bangladesh win toss, bat against West Indies in first Test

Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first against visiting West Indies in the first Test of a two-match series at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on Thursday.
 
Bangladesh have handed maiden Test cap to Nayeem Hasan at a simple ceremony on the day.
 
There are three changes in Bangladesh eleven that played against Zimbabwe in the second Test in Dhaka early this month as Nayeem Hasan got a spot alongside Shakib and Soumya Sarkar’s return, replacing Liton Kumar Das and Khaled Ahmed and Ariful Haque respectively.
 
Bangladesh: Imrul Kayes, Soumya Sarkar, Mominul Haque, Mahmudullah Riyad, Shakib Al Hasan (captain), Mushfiqur Rahim, Mohammad Mithun, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taijul Islam, Mustafizur Rahman and Nayeem Hasan.
 
West Indies: Kraigg Brathwaite (capt), Kieran Powell, Shai Hope, Shimron Hetmyer, Roston Chase, Sunil Ambris, Shane Dowrich, Shannon Gabriel, Jomel Warrican, Kemar Roach, Devendra Bishoo.
