Awami League (AL) Joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul Alam Hanif on Tuesday called upon the BNP leaders to find out the causes of their nose-dive defeat in the 11th parliamentary election instead of taking attempt to make the polls questionable.
“BNP has no need to bring allegations of rigging to make questionable the 11th parliamentary polls to conceal their failure,” he said after attending an extended meeting of Jatiya Shramik League at its Bangabandhu Avenue office here.
He called upon BNP to find out the causes of their nose-dive defeat in the national election instead of making allegations, saying, “In case of failure in doing so, the party will be ruined politically in the days to come.
“The AL has achieved the landslide victory in the national election as people of the country kept their faith on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina due to massive development works carried out by her government,” Hanif opined.
Jatiya Shramik League held the meeting as part of the preparation to make success the grand rally of the AL on January 19 with its President Fazlul Haque Montu in the chair.
Labour Affairs Secretary Habibur Rahman Siraj, Relief and Social Welfare Affairs Secretary Sujit Roy Nandi, former Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan, MP, Dhaka South City AL Secretary Sahe Alam Murad, and Jatiya Shramik League General Secretary Md Sirajul Islam spoke on the occasion, among others.-BSS
