Awami League (AL) President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday promised to implement the ten mega projects taken by AL-led grand alliance government if her party is voted to power again in the upcoming general election.
“For the first time in the country, ten mega projects are being implemented. We are committed to implement these mega projects,” she said while announcing her party’s election manifesto ahead of the 11th parliamentary polls slated for December 30.
The mega projects are: Padma Bridge, Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant, Rampal coal-fired Power Plant, Deep Sea Port, Dhaka Mass Rapid Development Transit
Project, LNG Terminal, Moheshkhali-Matarbari Intregreted Infrastructure Development Project, Payra Sea Port, Padma Bridge rail link and construction of Rail track between Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar.
The AL president, in the manifesto, said work of the construction of Nuclear power plant is progressing fast while development work of Payra port is going on.
“Sonadia deep sea port, Rampal power plant and Matarbari power plant projects are under implementation. The construction of LNG terminal has been completed and supply of LNG to national grid started,” she said.-BSS
