The world’s most-used web search engine Google has created a new Doodle on its homepage, celebrating the life of Bangla writer Humayun Ahmed on the occasion of his 70th birth anniversary.
 
Humayun Ahmed would have turned 70 on Monday.
 
The Doodle imagines Humayun Ahmed at his estate, meeting with Himu, a much-loved character from his novels.
 
Humayun authored over 200 books, many of which were best sellers and eight of which were made into films.
 
He was also writer, dramatist, screenwriter, filmmaker, song writer, scholar, lecturer.
 
He won the Bangla Academy Award and the Ekushey Padak award for his contribution to Bengali literature.
 
storytelling style captures the oral tradition and rhythm at the root of Bangla, bringing to life the stories and aspirations of traditional middle class and rural families.
 
Humayun Ahmed died on July 19, 2012.
