Awami League (AL) Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif on Tuesday said people rejected BNP in the polls as they do not want to see any corrupt people in power.
“If any political party does something good for the people, only then they can seek votes from them. BNP did not do any such thing except corruption and now they should accept polls verdict of the countrymen,” he told journalists before a book distribution festival at Kushtia Government Girls’ School premises here.
Hanif said county’s politics is not safe to Zia’s family as they are controlled by Pakistan. There is no chance to do politics by the Pakistani agent in this country, he added.
With Deputy Commissioner Aslam Hossain in the chair, it was attended by the district AL General Secretary Asgar Ali, Joint General Secretary Faruk-uz-Zaman and District Education Officer Zayedur Rahman, among others.
Hanif distributed new books to the students free of cost in the festival.-BSS
