BNP wants army deployment before Gazipur, Khulna city polls

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has demanded deployment of army before seven days of the upcoming city polls to Gazipur and Khulna cities.
BNP delegation led by the party’s standing committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain on Tuesday placed the demand at a meeting with chief election commissioner KM Nurul Huda at the Nirbachan Bhaban.
The party also demanded immediate removal of Gazipur Police Super (SP) Mohammad Harun-Or-Rashid.
The other members of the delegation were party standing committee members Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan, Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Nazrul Islam Khan and Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, and vice-chairman Chowdhury Kamal Ibne Yusuf.
