Syed Ashraf’s first namaz-e-janaza held

The first namaz-e-janaza of Public Administration Minister and former Awami League (AL) general secretary Syed Ashraful Islam was held at the South Plaza of Jaitya Sangsad on Sunday morning.
The body of the veteran AL leader was taken to South Plaz from mortuary of Combined Military Hospital (CMH) around 9:30am..
President Abdul Hamid, AL leaders and other politician from different parties, noted personalities and people from all walks of life took part in his janaza around 10:30am.
After the janaza, Syed Ashraf's body will be taken to Kishoreganj later on the day where his second namaj-e-janaza will be held at old stadium ground in the district town at noon.
His third janaza will be held at Mymensingh Anjuman Eidgah ground at 2pm.
The mortal remains will be flown back to the capital from Mymensingh and the Awami League leader will be laid to eternal rest at Banani Graveyard after Asr prayers.
Syed Ashraf, son of national leader and Bangabandhu’s close associate Syed Nazrul Islam, died of lung cancer at Bumrungrad International Hospital in Bangkok around 9:45 pm on Thursday at the age of 68.
