At least five persons were killed and seven injured in separate road accidents in Sirajganj and Sherpur districts on Thursday morning.
 
In Sirajganj, three people, including a woman were killed and three others injured as a bus collided with a pickup van in Tarash upazila of the district on Thursday morning.
 
The deceased were identified as Gupindranath Sarkar, 45, a lecturer at Shahjadpur Women College, Sohag, 28, son of Dulal Ahmed, from Magura Binod union and Ranuka KHatun, 40, wife of Abdul Mannan Mondal from Ambaria village. 
 
Hatikumrul Highway Police Station OC Abdul Quader Zilani said a bus of Mamun Enterprise collided head-on with a pickup van on the Hatikumrul-Bonpara highway at about 9am, leaving three dead on the spot and three others wounded.
 
The injured were admitted to a local hospital.
 
In Sherpur, two persons were killed and four others injured in head on collision between a pick-up van and an easy bike in Jhinaigati upazila of the district this morning.
 
The deceased were identified as Khoka Miah, 22, son of Riaz Uddin from Kandapara and Babar Ali, 35, son of Nefaz Uddin from Tatalpur village in Sadar upazila.
 
The accident occurred around 8am.
