A Chittagong court sent BNP leader Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury to jail after rejecting his bail petition in a case filed under ICT Act.
Chattogram metropolitan session judge Akbar Hossain Mridha passed the order.
Earlier, the High Court granted anticipatory bail to the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leader Amir Khosru in two separate cases filed in Dhaka and Chattogram.
After expiry of bail on 7 October, the Chattogram court extended his bail until 21 October.
He was sued on charges of hatching conspiracy against state and plotting subversive activities.
Jakaria Dastagir, acting general secretary of Chattogram city unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), filed the case under sections 57 (2) of ICT Act and 15 (3) of the Special Powers Act with Kotwali thana on August 5 against Khasru after a phone conversation allegedly between him and a BNP activist was leaked.
