The High Court on Wednesday granted anticipatory bail to seven top leaders of BNP including Secretary General Mirza Farkhrul Islam Alamgir in a case filed with Hatirjheel Police Station.
A High Court bench comprising of Justice Mohammad Abdul Hafiz and Justice Kashefa Hossain passed the order today.
The other BNP leaders who got bail are : BNP Standing Committee Members Nazrul Islam Khan, Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan, the party's vice-chairmen Amanullah Aman and Ruhul Kuddus Talukder.
Barrister Moudud Ahmed, advocate Zainul Abedin and Barrister Mahabub Uddin Khokon stood for the BNP leaders.
On October 1, police filed a case against BNP leaders and activists, including Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, for ‘instigating people against the government’ and ‘preventing the police from doing their duty’.
