The International Crimes Tribunal on Tuesday sentenced three persons to death in a case filed against four from Noakhali for their alleged involvement in crimes committed during the Liberation War in 1971.
The three-member tribunal led by Justice Md Shahinur Islam pronounced the verdict this morning.
The death sentence awardees are--Amir Ahmed alias Amir Ali, Joynal Abedin, and Abul Kalam alias AKM Mansur. Md Abdul Kuddus was handed over 20-years’ imprisonment.
On June 20, 2016, the tribunal framed three charges including genocide against the accused.
