The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court on Tuesday stayed a High Court order that had banned raid against jewelry shops without following necessary legal steps. 
"Following today's order, there is now no legal bar in conducting sudden raids in the jewelry shops," said Additional Attorney General Mamtaz Uddin Fakir.
Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain of Appellate Division Chamber Judge Court passed the order after holding hearing on a plea filed by the state. 
The court also sent the leave to appeal plea filed by the state in this regard, to Appellate Division regular bench for further hearing on October 12.
The High Court on June 8 passed an interim order asking not to conduct raid in jewelry shops without following appropriate legal steps. 
The court also issued a rule asking to explain why a policy will not be formulated to import gold into the country. -BSS
