Employment fair for physically challenged people begins in city

A two-day employment fair titled "We have the right to serve" began today in the city's Krishibid Institution with a view
to creating opportunities for the physically challenged people of the country.
Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Annisul Huq inaugurated the fair organized by Bangladesh Protibondhi Kallayan Samity (BPKS) and JOBSBD.Com in association with Daffodil International University, said a press release.
Md. Sabur Khan, former President of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) and Chairman of Daffodil Group, Professor Dr. Marcia H Rioux, School of Health Policy & Management, York University, Canada, Prof. Dr. Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, Chief Executive of National Election Monitoring council, Mustafa Jobber, former President of Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS) and Kazi Rakibuddin, Chief Human Resource Officer of Anowar Group were present as the special guests.
Md. Abdus Sattar Dulal, founder and Executive Director of Bangladesh Protibondhi Kallayan Samity (BPKS), chaired the inaugural session.
Annisul Huq said physically challenged peoples are not burden to the society rather they can contribute a lot to the national development if they are given opportunity. He declared to take the responsibilities of at least 1500 disable people for providing jobs.
The mayor urged the physically challenged peoples to explore their skills, strengths and working capabilities.
He urged the organizers to make a list of physically challenged people highlighting their expertise so that interested companies can recruit them as per their requirements.
Different institutions and corporate companies took part in the fair and an exhibition of essential equipments for the physically challenged people is also arranged there. The fair will be started at 10.00am and will be continued up to 5.00pm every day and the fair will be open for all. -BSS
