Legendary singer and freedom fighter Abdul Jabbar was laid to eternal rest at Martyred Intellectuals Graveyard in city's Mirpur on Thursday.
He was buried at about 4:30pm with state honour after a second namaj-e-janaza held at the Dhaka University Central Mosque.
The 79-years-old singer died at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in Dhaka on Wednesday.
The first namaj-e-janaza for Abdul Jabbar was held at Bangladesh Betar in the capital this morning.
Among others, Information minister Hasanul Haq Inu, Krishak Sramik Janata League President Abdul Kader Siddique and the information secretary attended the funeral prayers around 10:20am.
Later, body was kept at Central Shaheed Minar where people from all walks of life paid their last respects to him. He was also given a guard of honour there.
