Several books on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangamatha Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and slain son of Bangabandhu Sheikh Russel were handed over to President Abdul Hamid on Sunday.
Bangladesh Awami Jubo League chairman Mohammad Omar Faroque Chowdhury and its general secretary Md Harunur Rashid handed over the books to the President at Bangabhaban this afternoon. Bangladesh Awami Jubo League published these books.
President's Press Secretary Joynal Abedin briefed reporters after the meeting.
During the meeting, Omar Faroque outlined the themes and different aspects of these books, saying Awami Jubo League took the initiative to publish the books on the family members of Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to present their lives and works before the present and future generations.
Thanking the Awami Jubo League leadership for publishing books on family members of Bangabandhu, President Abdul Hamid said now people can know their thoughts, development thinking and sacrifices by reading these books.
He said these books published by Awami Jubo League are important documents in the history of the nation.
Noting that coordination between leaders and workers is very important in politics, the President said that knowing about history from these books is very important for the country's politicians.
Abdul Hamid hoped that following the book publication initiative of Awami Jubo League, other organisations will also take steps to present the history, tradition and culture of the country and nation to people.-BSS
